Throwing Her
Triangle
A group of us were invited to
participate in an on-site drawing exhibition - using only the
materials provided in the kits. Each of us submitted a drawing and
ideas about size and placement. A couple of months later we each came
in during 2 weeks in August to work our walls or areas. I really
enjoyed the challenge of working in black and white and wove a
triangle from the provided narrow black tape. I was fortunate to have
friend and follow artist Lynda Hess sitting behind me serving as
critic.
I started with a paper pattern of the
large female figure.
Working on the mountain line
I used some of the provided white twine to
allow the triangle to "fly" off the wall.
This is one of the largest pieces I've
done.
Special thanks to Curator Don Dugal, UH

and Lynda Hess
